Diet
Humpback whales hunt in groups. They use a stategy called Bubble net. A bubble net is when a several whales form a circle and trap fish in a air ring. Humpback whales live mostly off of krill and small fish. Humpback whales feed in the summer and fast in the winter, living off of fat reserves.
Weight and Size of Humpback Whales
Adult humpback whales can grow up to 12-16 meters (39-52 feet). They weigh approximately 36,000 kilograms
Mating
Humpbacks migrate in the winter to tropical or sub-tropical places. This is where they mate and give birth. Females give birth about every 2 or 3 years. They are pregnant for 11.5 months.
Lifespan
Humpback whales were thought to live 50-60 years but new studies show that they may live to be over 200 years old.
